Wood Ducks Pair..

Hard to believe the photo opportunities that may appear before you, seemingly out of nowhere. There is an area in the Thumb of Michigan, on the shore of Lake Huron, called Fish Point. Among many other beautiful sights, these Wood Ducks were resting on the tree branch as we drove by; window down, camera in hand, driving slow; now you see it too. Did You Know ….? “Countless Indian words have become a part of the English language. Just a few of these include: barbecue, cannibal, caribou, chipmunk, chocolate, cougar, hammock, hurricane, mahogany, moose, opossum, potato, skunk, squash, toboggan and woodchuck.” I had the privilege of attending a Pow-Wow in Northern Michigan. Fawn..New Arrival

We saw the doe in the field next door when she dropped her fawn. With camera in hand, we were able to get the photo while the fawn was still wet; you can see the moisture on its back. Mama didn’t return to get her baby until night fell, but by morning the pair were no longer to be seen. What a treasured opportunity!
