Hard to believe the photo opportunities that may appear before you, seemingly out of nowhere. There is an area in the Thumb of Michigan, on the shore of Lake Huron, called Fish Point. Among many other beautiful sights, these Wood Ducks were resting on the tree branch as we drove by; window down, camera in hand, driving slow; now you see it too.

I had the privilege of attending a Pow-Wow in Northern Michigan. It is a beautiful ceremony of the Native American Indian. Searching for a quotation for the back of the note card, I found the one above, about countless Indian words which are part of our English language. I didn’t know that, did you? Fawn..New Arrival

We saw the doe in the field next door when she dropped her fawn. With camera in hand, we were able to get the photo while the fawn was still wet; you can see the moisture on its back. Mama didn’t return to get her baby until night fell, but by morning the pair were no longer to be seen. What a treasured opportunity!

Aging Process

Sad to say, it’s gone now. How many years do you suppose it took to reach its final destination? Did someone notice the orange sign there to say “Stop, wait, I may take a little time but I’ll settle down on my own.” We’ll never know, but without the lively orange of the sign, it may never have been noticed; just an old barn, falling down. I love it!
